The Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation was established in 1986. It was the first organization to initiate action to bring the Main Street Program to Wisconsin, and has actively supported the development of Wisconsin's Heritage Tourism program. Each year they select the Ten Most Endangered Historic Properties in Wisconsin. On May 7, 2004 they announced the 2004 selections which include the Sturgeon Bay Memorial Bridge.
