In May of this year the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District dumped 4.6 billion gallons of storm water and raw sewage into Lake Michigan, claiming that excessive rains between May 7-27, 2004 caused a surge in the volume they could handle.

Over the past weekend they did it again. This time with no explanation... dumping 1.6 million gallons of raw sewage into the Lake. Is there anyone still trying to figure out why beaches are closed on a regular basis when bans are tied to high levels of E. coli, created mostly by human and animal waste?

State Rep. Jon Richards (D-Milwaukee) says, "such dumping simply shouldn't happen in anything less than extreme weather. If penalties in state law aren't severe enough to deter MMSD from dumping raw sewage, the Legislature should increase the penalties."

Garey would you please call this guy tomorrow, even if it means jumping over the fence to talk with a Dem... the shit is rising up over our waders here in North Bay and we need a little non-partisan cooperation.

Buzzed boaters beware…
Operation Midnight Badger is cracking down on drunken boaters. The US Coast Guard has cited more than 60 boaters from Chicago to Door County so far this season. “Half of all boating accidents are alcohol-related,” says the Coast Guard so they are now set up with portable Breathalyzers as a means of monitoring boater sobriety, and fines of up to $5,500 for the guilty.

Speaking of drunks...
Did you witness GW Bush performing any National Guard Service between May 1972 and October 1973, in either Alabama or Texas? If so, you could be eligible for thousands of dollars in unclaimed reward money!! Here are the details of earlier Texas and Alabama rewards... that went unclaimed. And now, $10,000 for anyone who can provide for proof of service by GW Bush at Dannelly AFB!

Artist and patriot G.B. Trudeau, creator of Doonesbury says, "Don't let the smear artists define the president. If you personally witnessed George W. Bush reporting for drills at Dannelly Air National Guard Base between the months of May and November of 1972 we want to hear about it."
